Google guides gives me the power to express myself in ways that I could not do in my every day life. It has connected me with businesses and people in a way I wouldn’t have thought possible several years ago. By using the power of my mobile device, I can take an opportunity for my insights and contributions to make an impact by interacting with my community.
Seriously,I had no idea that this venture would be such a rewarding experience. I first got hooked entirely by accident. I started by taking a few photos (i love taking photos by the way) and posting them whilst thinking nothing of it, eventually I started adding brief descriptions for my reviews and they slowly became more detailed. When I got my Google guide socks in the post, it made the prospect of becoming a guide more real and viable to me if I continued to make great content.
I always get a real sense of achievement when I know that other people are looking at my reviews to get a view on my perspective on an area or establishment. That gives me a real feeling of pride that I could make others get my honest opinion.
Submitting reviews makes me feel rewarded every step of the way. As previously mentioned, the socks were the first sign of this. I want to make sure my community can thrive on honest reviews, because in the end we are all defined by our communities and the content/support we provide. Make the world a better place a little at a time. No matter how small, change is still change.
I’m extremely honoured to be considered for the Connect Live 2020 global event. I feel that this would be an excellent opportunity for me to connect to other guides and expand my knowledge in this ultra specific field.
