Santhome Cathedral Basilica Church was built in the 16th century:
St. Thomas is reported to have visited Mylapore where he lived till his death in 76AD. At the basement of the church, you can visit the tomb of St. Thomas that contains a supposed bone fragment of St. Thomas’ finger and a cross he had carved.

The Shore Temple in Mahabalipuram is one of the oldest examples of Dravida Architecture (other two important ones being Nagara and Vesara). There are a few inscriptions dating back to the Chola dynasty on the outer walls of the temple. The temple is an architectural example of Rajasimha’s time.
