Aah, what a city to embrace. I’ve been in this city for quite a while now and I’m still in awe of her charming landmarks, landscapes, beaches and the interaction of different cultures making it a beautiful melting pot of backgrounds. Like most cities built on migrants, Sydney boasts a tolerant community. There’ll always be differences between her citizens but overall a fantastic city to live in. How does one describe Sydney? My humble opinion is "a sunburnt city dress up with an impressive harbour, and gum tree lined coastline greeting each other on white sandy beaches. The sky kissing the ocean over the horizon creating waves that caresses the beach and Sydney is submerging in it! Cheers.
Thanks @SirB for information Sydney is really a beautiful city
@SirB very interesting city.
Thank you.
Totally agree @SirB , Sydney is a beautiful city and not just because it has the largest harbour in the world or the iconic Opera House! It has soooo much to offer. Love your photos, so different to the photos of Sydney that we usually see.
@JMD9 , and thanks for taking the time to read. I’m so glad you find it useful. Cheers.
Thanks @Avsha , take care.
Cheers @AdamGT . You’re absolutely correct, there’s so much more to Sydney than I can ever describe. And I’m so glad you liked the photos, I thought I’d add different images to the usual. Thanks for taking the time to read and response.
Hi @SirB Really a nice city, your photos are wonderful.
Thanks @vijayparadkar and I’m glad you enjoyed the photos of Sydney. Cheers
Hi @SirB ,
Thank you for sharing your post with us. The photos are amazing, and St Mary’s Cathedral looks very similar to Notre-Dame de Paris. Did you use any app to edit your photos and are all of them taken with your phone?
Hi @InaS , thank you for your feedback and your interests in my post. I took the photos using my phone and use Alpaca filters (internal phone photo editing) to highlight the darker spots making the photos more vivid. I live right across from St. Mary’s Cathedral but photos were taken from a friend’s apartment, level 31 in the city not far from where I live. It was a glorious afternoon in Sydney to take these photos.
St. Mary’s Cathedral is classed as Gothic Revival and you’re correct in pointing out that it’s reminiscent of Notre Dame de Paris as the entrance façade designed loosely based on the most famous Gothic front of Notre Dame de Paris! By the by, two spires weren’t added until 2000. One trivial fact is that it’s oriented in a north-south direction rather than the usual east-west orientation. I’ve reviewed St Mary’s Cathedral in Google maps as well. Cheers from Sydney
The results are amazing @SirB . Hope to read more posts from you. Keep up sharing with us!
