Hello Friends. Happy Ram Navmi to all:folded_hands:.
Ram Navmi – the divine celebration of Lord Shri Ram’s birth, a symbol of truth, virtue, and dharma. On this auspicious day, devotees across the world remember Maryada Purushottam Ram, whose life inspires strength, patience, and righteousness. Last year, my heart led me to Ayodhya – the sacred land of his birth – with the special person in my life, my Dadi.
On this special day, I want to share the story of my unforgettable three-day Ayodhya tour with my grandmother – a trip filled with blessings, firsts, and lifelong memories.
It all began the day after Diwali. For the first time in our family, Dadi and I were going to travel by flight. My father and cousins dropped us at Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar International Airport, Indore, and from that moment, Dadi was my responsibility. Seeing her in a wheelchair, being assisted with care, made me feel both protective and proud.
After the security checks, we waited patiently. When we finally boarded the flight, I couldn’t contain my excitement. From my window seat, I saw Indore slowly disappear beneath us. We flew over Ashta, Bhopal, Vidisha, Kanpur, and even caught a glimpse of the sacred Ganga.
After a smooth 1.45-hour flight, we landed in Lucknow and took a pre-booked taxi to Ayodhya. Due to post-Diwali restrictions, our hotel arranged a special vehicle to bring us close to the Ram Janmabhoomi temple, where we were staying. That ended our first day – a mix of thrill and devotion.
The second day began with a divine dip in the holy Saryu River. We reached the ghat by e-rickshaw, and both of us took a sacred bath.
Wrapped in spiritual energy, we then visited Hanuman Garhi . With help, I guided Dadi up the stairs. Bowing before Lord Hanuman filled us with strength and joy.
Next, we headed to Ram Janmabhoomi. Thanks to the temple trust’s excellent facilities, we used wheelchair assistance, and soon stood before Shri Ram Lalla. Tears rolled down our cheeks as we folded our hands – it was an emotional, divine moment. Dadi and I hugged each other right there – it felt like a dream come true.
After returning to the hotel and letting Dadi rest, I went back alone in the evening to witness the grand Saryu Aarti. The serenity of the river, the chants, the lamps – all etched into my soul. I also visited Dashrath Mahal, Kanak Bhawan, and the beautifully lit Lata Mangeshkar Chowk.
On Day 3, before heading home, I visited Hanuman Garhi and Ram Janmabhoomi once again, this time without assistance. The darshan was quick but peaceful. We checked out, took the Vande Bharat Express from Ayodhya Dham to Lucknow Gomti Nagar, and from there, reached the airport.
One final flight – this time to Bhopal – and then a chartered bus brought us home around midnight.
Everyone welcomed us with love and excitement. They made special Rangoli for welcoming us.
This was more than a trip. It was a spiritual journey, a bonding experience, and a story I’ll tell for years – how I travelled with Dadi to Ayodhya and found Ram in every moment.
Once again Happy Ram Navmi to all. I hope you all will like my tour.
