My advice for other Local Guides
When I started on my Local Guide journey I had no idea what I would contribute as I had yet to find my niche.
- So my first note of advice is find your niche first, this will be what type of information you would like to share and enjoy. Dont do it to reach a certain level; instead, make it your passion that way you get to enjoy what your doing and sharing it will have value.
- Dont give a bad review before taking these items unto consideration, was your experience a one off, were you or the location your reviewing having a bad day, was there anything positive about your experience, if you owned the location or business you visited then how would you react to a negative review and do you understand that you personal experience may do serious financial harm to the business or to their employees .
- Take good quality photos as they say a photo is worth a thousand words.
- Take your reviews seriously and consider your words carefully as words can be misunderstood and offence taken even if the review was never meant to be negative.
- Be kind, be considerate and always allow that any personal experience can be unique and a one off, do good and always look for the positive in your experience. You will never regret giving a positive review but you may well regret giving a negative review, believe me I made this mistake twice in six years and luckily for me I was able to correct both.
Have a wonderful day and keep your contributions coming. Cheers
