My adventures in Western Australia Part 1 ☀️

Guys :sunny::sunglasses:

After weeks on the west coast of Australia I finally have some good WiFi to write a post about my adventures! I only have a couple of days left (in which I will hopefully do an ecotouristic tour and swim with sealions as well as have my first skydive) but I thought why not share what I did so far.

In Exmouth, a beautiful city with lots of sunshine at almost every day of the year I swam with a whale shark. It was an incredible experience! Whale sharks are the biggest fish in the sea and can get up to 18 m long!!

Well, the whale shark I swam with was ‚only‘ 7m long but why bother :see_no_evil:

The tour supported ecotourism. A marine biologist on board explained lots of things about animals in the sea and told us about safety measures for us, but also for the animals. Ecotourism is something I really love because it makes sure that the animals can go on with their life with no one bothering them directly. We were allowed to swim with the whale shark for 1 hour only, no touching, no swimming on top, no swimming in front etc.

The tour was fantastic and if you ever make it to Exmouth I strongly recommend it. You also have a photographer on board who will provide you with the photos made on the day of the tour as seen below.

On that day we also saw orcas, one of my favorite animals  (well, I like almost every animal…) @ErmesT Because you are an eco-friendly person I thought you might like that

Some of the money we pay for a tourticket will also be given to the parks and wildlife foundation in australia.

The second tour I did was quite the same but this time no swimming with a whale shark but with a HUGE manta ray!! It was equally amazing! We also did a lot of snorkeling at the Ningaloo Reef. It’s a more than 200km long reef on the West side of Australia and in my opinion underappreciated. Lots of people only think of the Great Barrier Reef when visiting Australia.

The national parks here are amazing as well, you have to pay a $13 entrance free per day per vehicle and then you are free to go  we saw kangaroos, emus, even a dingo and so many more animals!

It was amazing!! You can also see some breathtaking landscapes, have a look:

I hope this post can show the beauty of this country!!

You should go visit it as well :slightly_smiling_face:

Incredible post @MiaMaria and the pictures are breathtaking. So far, your adventurеs in Australia are looking pretty exciting, can’t wait to see Part 2.

I have one question though, is there a specific reason why you can swim with sharks for only 1 hour?

@KlaudiyaG Thanks so much!! Your feedback is amazing!

regarding your question: it’s only 1 hour to make sure that the animal doesn’t get bothered too much. The company that offered this tour has to make sure (by law as well I think) that the people follow certain rules. Wildlife protection etc.

I hope this helped

Wow, what an amazing adventure. So glad you’re enjoying yourself. I had to think about 7m. My house is 8m high, that put your swim in context :). That is big!!

Yes @MiaMaria, that’s what I was interested in finding out.

At first I wasn’t sure if that rule was created so that no harm will come to the humans or if it was meant to protect the animals. I’m so glad to learn that there are so many people and companies that treats animals and nature itself with the respect and kindness that it deserves.

Thank you so much for replying!

Amazing travel experience @MiaMaria . I am sure that it was an awesome adventure. Thanks for sharing these beautiful photos, I really liked them.
