Happy New Year!
As part of One Accessibility advocacy, we shall share information about disability issues, inclusion, and or accessibility features on Maps. Look out every week for this enlightening post.
Working on Accessibility and having a year-long plan for that, can be a good thing for any Local Guide here. To me, working in a planned way will increase my efficiency for my work on Accessibility. Below is my working plan on Accessibility for the year 2022.
Meet-ups- Last year, 2021, I hosted 12 meet-ups on Accessibility with the other local guides in Bangladesh. I will continue this in 2022 also. I will try my best to arrange and attend Accessibility-related meet-ups in and out of my town. Most of the time I host my meet-ups physically. If needed, this year, I will arrange virtual meet-ups also.
Accessibility Check: While I visit any place, I try to check the accessibility features available there and update them to google maps. This year I will continue this and I will make a post and share it in Connect.
Spreading Accessibility awareness in my network: In many social media, I am now connected with many Local Guides from various countries of the world. I will start sharing my knowledge on accessibility with them. I will try to help if any of them wants to work on Accessibility.
Participating in Accessibility events: Throughout the year, various kinds of events are held in my town related to Accessibility. I will try my best to attend those programs to enrich and increase my knowledge on Accessibility. I will also try to share them in the Connect forum.
Co-operating with Oneaccessibility: Oneaccessibility team has various kinds of programs throughout the whole year. I will try my best to increase my involvement in the programs e.g., joining webinars, writing a specific post, hosting meet-ups, etc.
What is your Accessibility goal for 2022? If you have any idea that we can implement in 2022 for the betterment of Accessibility, please feel free to share.
