As 2019 end and 2020 beseech us, I want to use this medium to recall all the beautiful moments I’ve had as a local guide in 2019. I want to also use this medium to give a shout out to some outstanding Nigeria Local guides that have molded my thoughts and push me to achieve more as a local guide and others who I look up to secretly trailing their accomplishments. It is quite deliberate that I delayed this retrospective review to After the end of the year, this is actually measure end to end what has really transpired.
I registered as a Local guide in July 2018, not knowing much of the significance of what my contributions meant until April 2019 when I stormed into a street view meetup Lagos 360 Tour organized by @Mayford . During the meet up i learnt a whole lot from the knowledge of local guides. I realize i was on level 7 that same day. I learned how to use the street view app to take 360 photos. Most importantly I learned there was an active community of like minded Local guides in Lagos.

Since then, I have attended nearly all meetups organized in Lagos, socializing with great and homely Local guides. There is always some sort of knowledge transfer at every meetup.

An important point of my journey as a Local guide was when i was visited by the Lagos Local guides when I had a fire accident that kept me in the hospital for three weeks in November 2019. The love shown by local guides was unprecedented.
Now at the end of the year I am more than half way through Level 8 and I am optimistic that this year 2020 there will be more contributions that will improve my community.
