Today, I attended my first Google Local Guides (BDLG) meet up in Dhaka at the BICC, which was organized on the occasion of the Bangladesh festival. It was a small gathering of local guides around the city, but it was a great opportunity to share our knowledge, views, and encourage each other to contribute more and make Google Maps better.
I was very excited to meet the other members of this volunteer community, and I thoroughly enjoyed my time with them. I had the opportunity to meet a few of the key personnel of the community, and I hope to be more active with the team and contribute my best to future meet ups and programs.
Here are a few of the key takeaways from the meet up:
- The importance of contributing to Google Maps to help people, which is an act of giving in a way that keeps on giving.
- The importance of getting connected to the passionate people of same interests. I am moved by the fellows.
I am grateful for the opportunity to have met these amazing people, and I am excited to continue contributing to the Google Local Guides community. I encourage all local guides to attend meet ups in their area to connect with other members, learn new things, and have fun!
