Museum of Art Nouveau sculpture by Michael Dzyndra

Peak of glory Mykhailo Dzyndra fell to America, but after gaining independence from Ukraine, Dzyndra, having been 71, returned home with a dream to found here something that was not so far, namely the Museum of Modern Art.

"I returned to Ukraine, because I felt my debt to her, and I was born here from my grandfather, great-grandfather. I am glad that I had a lot of happiness and done so much. »

Realizing that the state would not help him in creating the museum, he decided to open him alone, spending 13 years and over 100 thousand dollars. In 2005, having overcome many obstacles, Michael Dzindra finally embodies this dream. The artist brought 807 of his sculptures to Ukraine, which he presented to the state in the person of the Lviv Art Gallery.
The area of the museum is 1450 sq m, it has no partitions or divisions - one huge hall. A huge amount of works is simply impressive. When you take a closer look at them, you understand, each of them - is individuality, part of the rich inner world of the author.

There are no plates with names of works in the museum, you can walk and invent their own. However, afterwards, it is worth asking for an excursion and the real names. Sculptures stand closely together, but this does not diminish their monumental character.

In order to understand, appreciate his work, do not need to understand art, have some kind of intellectual level. The main thing is to turn on fantasy, then every sculpture from different angles is revealed in a new way. The artist seems to have left us with the opportunity to think over, to reproduce with him.

The flight of thought was made by Mikhail Dzhindra with the help of two simple things - a construction mesh and a cement. By practicing this unusual material for the artists, the Ukrainian sculptor hit the path to modernism in a rather popular sculpture craft.

Exhibited over 800 sculptures created in America, as well as masks made in Ukraine. In addition to the author’s work there are over 800 pictures and phrases that survived and after the death of the sculptor.
