Murong Waterfalls "Damtua"

Innumerable cascade & Waterfalls in the hilly region of Bangladesh became prominent in the rainy season. One of the famous fountains is Damtua. These fountains are not only beautiful but at the same time Damtua fountain and Jhiri Path are running in a swinging. The best time to visit these fountains and waterfalls is from July to September. Damitua is located in the deep forest of Alikadam upazila of Bandarban district.

We reach Alikadam Upazila directly by non-AC bus from the capital Dhaka at night. There is no direct AC bus service from Dhaka to Alikadam Upazila. If you want to go by AC bus, you have to take the Dhaka-Cox’s Bazar route bus and get off at Chakoria. From there you have to go to Alikadam by reserve / local jeep. Departing from Dhaka at night, Alikadam can be reached by 8 am.

If you are a tourist, you need to show your NID along with photocopy to the security forces at two places after Chakoria.

We got off at Alikadam bus stop and took local auto to Panbazar. We have breakfast at the local restaurant. Then we hire a reserve jeep from Panbazar – Adu Murongpara – Panbazar . Locally these jeeps are known as Chandergari / Four Wheeler. Adu Murongpara also known as 17 kilo. If you want, you can also take a share base reserve motorcycle. Jeeps and motorcycles are available all the time.

In the reserve jeep we started to travel on the highest road in Bangladesh. Nature will take away your mind while passing through the highest mountain road of Bangladesh. We had to leave Alikadam and stop at 10 kilo check point. Here you will need to submit a photocopy of your N. ID card, along with your name in the security forces register. You have to keep in mind that after seeing the waterfalls, you have to report to this 10 Kilo check point before 5 pm. There is a restaurant with a checkpoint. The sweet yoghurt here is very tasty. Also there is a clean washroom.

After permission at the checkpoint, our jeep started moving again and half an hour later we reached Adupara.

If you want to go to Damitua from here, you have to take a local guide. There are several food shops in Adu Para. If you do not have dry food with you, you can collect it from Adupara. After taking the guide, we left for Damtua.

The road from Adupara to Damtua is also very amazing. Jhum farming in the hills, several tribal dwelling place and walking along the Jhiri path is quite enjoyable. On the way there are small and big stones, fried cool water tells what Damtua waterfalls will be like!

After reaching the waterfall, we forgot all the troubles of our two and a half hour trek. In the endless silence of the green hills, Damtua springs spread the realm of beauty. The structure of these fountains and waterfalls is attractive. Like a picture created by skilled hands. According to the locals, these waterfalls have been flowing for centuries.

Basically there are two fountains, falling on a pool below. One is rolling down a steep hill slope and the other is falling clear water from top to bottom. We enjoyed the beauty of the waterfall for about an hour and headed back. For now, overnight stays are not allowed near Damtua.

Damtua fountain is a wonderful creation of nature. Where nature plays its own mind. To keep ourselves away from the boredom of urban life, the cool waters of Damtua enliven us.

Remember: Mountains, waterfalls and waterfalls are natural resources. The environment is ruined if indigestible waste is dumped here and there.

So bring all that rubbish with you and throw it away.

Thank You.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BBUKiORgkmo&list=PLVAsIgoZiAeaGFYxpp-3yiyoLf1U-UGJN&index=1&t=312s
