Munich: traditions and modernity

There was my birthday, and I always try to treat myself with a small city break, as I can’t live without some travel adventures.

Last year there was difficult to organize something like this. You know why. Because COVID times were much harder and with much more restrictions, and the vaccination was only in the plans.

This year, still COVID times, but with two shots of the vaccine the one can do much more, and travel freely around Europe. Especially it is convenient in Poland to plan something on my birthday, as this is the Independence Day of Poland, therefore a public holiday.

I would like to take you with me in my 4 days trip over 2000 km and share some moments.

We have started in Kraków, via Ostrava, Brno to reach a final destination - Münich.

And our way back was via Australia, Linz city, straight away to Kraków.

There is a map

I pointed the places from accommodation, breakfast and lunch places to sightseeing. Follow me here and on maps and you are going to get a great experience. I skipped places which I don’t recommend.

For those who are looking for the accommodation options in Munich, please have a look at the map here:

Munich Hotel accommodation map

My search criterias were as following: for 2 night for 2 persons, with parking, with work place, at the Eastern part or closer to center, near S-bahn or U-metro.

Firstly, I would like to take you to the shockingly and impressively modern part of Munich and its BMW museum.

TIPS: By the way, NMW Welt is for free, when BMW museum costs 10 euro. I recommend skipping it, and go to the Welt.

And the most beautiful, traditional yet very impressive as well part of the city - Munich Residenz, the former royal palace of the Wittelsbach monarchs of Bavaria:

City Hall - Rathhaus:

And how could I visit this marvelous city and not to meet its Google Local guide - superstar @TorM

Thank you so much for getting us the masks and guiding us through the security to the beer haven :slightly_smiling_face:

Hofbrauhaus - 3-floor beer hall dating back to the 16th century, with a Bavarian restaurant:

Have some questions? Need some tips? Shout me :slightly_smiling_face:
