This is a must see monument of Mumbai - being built in 1864 representing the Roman Goddess Flora represent ing flowers and spring. It had a functional fountain which is now being recommissioned by the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM). The detailing of the sculpture in white Portland ayone is exquisite and the pedestal and sculptures of mythological creatures on 4 sides make good subjects of photography. MCGM had taken up refurbishment and revival of the monument in 2019 and the restored monument is expected to be ready. by Jun 2019. Nearby is the Hutatma Chowk or Martyr’s Square with its own sculpture and lawn. Flora Fountain is referred to as Fountain by Mumbai residents and is an important landmark in the city. It is on DN Road and surrounded by other historical buildings and places.

Thanks for sharing, @giribpai . The fountain is beautiful, truly. Are Roman monuments common in Mumbai or is it just this one?
