Hello Fellow Local Guides,
I’m Nasim M Joy. Last week, I visited Moynamoti Shalbon Bihar. I’m sharing my story in this post.
Moynamoti Shalbon Bihar is a 7th-century Buddhist monastery located in Comilla, Bangladesh. It is one of the most important archaeological sites in the country and is believed to have been a major center of Buddhist learning and culture.
The monastery was founded by the Pala king Dharmapala in the 8th century and consists of a number of temples, stupas, and other structures. The most notable structure is the main temple, which is a nine-storeyed brick building with a cruciform plan. The temple is decorated with a number of beautiful sculptures and reliefs, which depict Buddhist deities and scenes from the life of Buddha.
Moynamoti Shalbon Bihar was abandoned in the 12th century, but it was rediscovered in the 19th century by British archaeologists. The site has since been excavated and restored, and it is now a popular tourist destination.
Unfortunately, some tourists are littering at Moynamoti Shalbon Bihar. This is disrespectful to the site and to the people who live and work there. I urge all tourists to please dispose of their trash properly.
There are also no drinking water facilities inside the Bihar. This can be a problem for tourists, especially during the hot summer months. I hope that the authorities will take steps to address this issue.
I am aware that there have been some safety concerns outside of Moynamoti Shalbon Bihar. I urge tourists to be aware of their surroundings and to take precautions to stay safe.
Some businessmen in the area are also greedy. I urge tourists to be careful when making purchases and to negotiate prices before buying anything.
How to you go -
You can get to Moynamoti Shalbon Bihar by rickshaw, taxi, or bus from the town of Comilla. It’s almost 11 kilometres far from main Town.
When you will visit Moynamoti Shalbon bihar, you can also visit Moynamoti Museum. It’s located beside the bihar.
Thanks for reading.
