I’m trying to edit a red pin that’s taking people onto private property and miles away from where lake access actually is. What’s the best way to provide feedback or edit the red pin/marker for the local lake?
Hi @AniWoo I am not sure if I am following correctly or not, by lake you mean a name of a place or lake meaning a dam? I never moved a maker for a dam, not sure if that is possible.
If that is a name of a place follow the following steps:
-
click on the place on the map
-
go to suggest an edit
-
click change name or other details
-
click on update location on the map
-
move the red marker to your intended position where you want it to be
-
click done
after those few steps you will receive a notification if your edit has been accepted or being reviewed. Thanks.
@AniWoo It’s good to know that you want to update the map with accurate information. To move marker see official instruction provided in Google Maps Help. Or you can follow the steps I’ve just recorded on my phone only for you. Here is the video.
Hello @AniWoo ,
Would you mind to share a link to the location you’re trying to edit?

Note if you get directions from Lexington Kentucky it takes you down a road then encourages walking to the lake. There is likely no lake access there. I need to edit a similar pin/marker for a different lake.
The red pin/marker is does not have a “suggest an edit” button/option.
Hello @AniWoo ,
Thank you very much for sharing the link. Yes you can not edit/move this place from there, self. You need to send feedback to team with detailed description. Here is a link to learn more about the process of sending feedback,

Can I ask you to support the idea by @RussWilkie in below link,

Good Day
@deepakjhic Thank you! Crossing my fingers the forms I submitted will help!
Three months later and still unable to have this red pin moved. Attempted to provide Maps feedback, contact Google Legal, and mark Google Maps directions as not accurate.
