🏔️ Mountainous Challenge: Post A Mountain On Connect

Post a Mountain Challenge. Share in the comments a mountain near you, something you visited, with a photo and brief caption or information about it. Let’s see how far we can travel the world and see mountains together.

Pilot Mountain: NC’s Iconic Knob! :mountain:

Ever seen that distinct “knob” sticking out of the North Carolina landscape? That’s Pilot Mountain, and it’s a must-visit! This unique geological wonder, part of Pilot Mountain State Park, offers incredible views and fantastic outdoor adventures.

You can hike to the base of the “Big Pinnacle” for some seriously Instagrammable photos :camera_with_flash:, or explore miles of trails through the surrounding forest. I, personally, park at the bottom and race my way to the top almost every birthday since I moved to Winston Salem NC. It’s a great way to feel younger and one with nature even though your clock is ticking Rock climbing and rappelling are popular too, if you’re feeling adventurous! Whether you’re a seasoned hiker or just looking for a scenic picnic spot, Pilot Mountain delivers. Don’t miss this Tar Heel State treasure!

@JordanBurleson Gostei desse chalenge.
Here are my contributions:

The Cordilheira dos Andes is the most extensive mountain range in the world. It crosses seven countries in the western part of South America, located in the CĂrculo de Fogo region. Cordilheira dos Andes is like a mountain range located on the west coast of South America.

People refer to our country as “flat” but I’ll accept this challenge and try to photograph the highest point. It is listed as 1,115 ft or 343 metres above sea level.

Now that is what I’m talking about @AdamGT! I bet you climbed in 3 times

Great contributions @GasparKaren! I love the facts you shared too. I would love to visit the Andrea mountains

I can’t wait to see your flattest entry, @tony_b

Adding another entry for my visit to Mt Fuji

Wow, what a breathtaking mountain view! @JordanBurleson
Thank you so much for sharing this peaceful moment with us. There’s something truly powerful and calming about mountains — they remind us to stay grounded and keep climbing no matter how steep life feels.

Wishing you more inspiring hikes and views like this!
Greetings from TĂĽrkiye!

I have an important montain @JordanBurleson :man_mountain_biking:

It is in Brazil, in a small city called Corrego do Bom Jesus (maps), 5k people
If I am not wrong, this is the highest montainthat can be cycled in Brazil. It took me a entire morning, cycling and stoping, to go from 900m until 2000m above sea level, in just 23km distance… it’s really hard.

That’s an incredible submission, @RogerOhayashi!

I miss riding my road bike and riding from bottom to top is so rewarding!

Great different challenge @JordanBurleson Here is mine.

These are the Two Pitons in St. Lucia

We were on a cruise, and I was a little younger in those days. I took a Bicycle junket, taken high up another mountain and we biked mostly downhill( thanks goodness).
People would be surprized how many mountains there are in the Caribbean.
Also lucky enough to see a few simmering volcano peaks down there.

Great Challenge Jordan.

A great picture @TerryPG. I was also a “little” i.e. 45 years younger  when I made a photo from a place close to your position:

Travel twins with @TerryPG, @WilfriedB. What are the odds! You could’ve ridden a tandem bicycle!

What are the Odds @WilfriedB ? if I remember it was at a look out point on the side of the road where we stopped to take the photo.

Too long ago @TerryPG  For sure, I did not ride a bike, very likely came up there with a little tour bus while we stayed in a hotel down at Smugglers Cove before embarking a four mast tall ship for a 4 day cruise headed to the Grenadines and back to Saint Lucia in March 1980.
