Mountain, nature and monasteries

This year spring and warmer weather came earlier than expected. As you know already, I enjoy exploring nature and spend time with friends.

This time we download tracking route via mobile app and it was around 30km. We chose mountain Fruska Gora which is located near Novi Sad. Fruška Gora is a national park in Serbia with the highest point reaching 539 meters. Fruska Gora had 35 monasteries but only 17 survived during the history of Serbia.

During this trip we visited monosetery Novo Hopovo which was built in 1753. It was raised by Serbian Despots of the House of Branković.

After a few kilometers, we arrived at the second monastery, which is Staro Hopovo. Can you believe that this monastery was built at the end of the 14th century? For instance, the exploration of America as a continent occurred in 1492

We continue through the woods and we have enjoyed the smell of spring.

And a few more shoots…

At the end, we walked around the radio tower that was destroyed and bombed in 1999. This tower symbolizes some of the hard times we have survived, but despite it all, we are still here, and that’s something to be grateful for.

In the end, we enjoyed the view of our city. It was a beautiful weekend.

Excellent photos @UrosKosevic I like them all.

The TV and radio tower looks a bit damaged, but I hope it is still working.
