Moti Masjid is a prominent landmark place of worship and famous for its architectural magnificence. It was built in 1860 AD, by Sikandar Jahan Begum who was the daughter of first lady ruler of Bhopal and mother of the great patron of architecture Nawab Shah Jahan Begum. As Bhopal is my Home Town and we are having absolutely diverse cultures.
This mosque is built on a raised platform, courtyard is surrounded from north and south by verandas, having eye catching red stone archways and hangouts outside. Main Prayer hall is further elevated where in the central part white marble is used. all the corners with cenotaphs with domes tops are pointed. Can be accessed via three gates and eastern gate is unique. Top two tall minarets with domes which are pointed and three main domes with Gold Kalash. In this mosque the unique combination of red stone and white marble is quite spectacular. Northeast and Southeast corners are having ablution Hauzes with fountains.
In this mosques all community get together are also held. Mostly prayers are lead by the Revered Muslim community Judge and later detail teaching of Quran how to be a perfect human. Let the Quran be the sound ethics. In this mosque mostly Nikahs (Process of Muslim Weddings) are conducted. Indeed, offering prayers here I used to feel grateful, and I find relief from the substantial pain. Friday prayer is held at 01:15 PM.
Visitors will love to visit this spiritual place of worship and they can enjoy the various traditional cuisines and shopping as it is surrounded by many restaurants and commercial areas. It can not be accessed by wheel chair. It’s a popular Itinerary through the heritage as mostly heritage are connected via heritage walk.
