Most interesting thing Ive done as a local guide

Last winter I went to one of the most exciting national parks in the surrounding of Mexico city. This national park is called “Nevado de Toluca”. It was my first experience hiking, therefore I wnt with an expert who is an expert in this topic and also happens to know all the routes available to visit this national park.

The journey first began when we left the house at 4 am. We first arrived at 6 am and having in mind that it was one of the firsts days of the year it is not necessary to say that it was freezing. We started to hike around 6:30 am and did not stop till 8 am to have breakfast. After we ate our breakfast we kept on hiking while admiring the nature and the beautiful landscapes that this national Park has to offer.

After taking some time to rest and admire the beautiful nature, the group and I decided to start with the hardest part, the most inclined part of the mountain. It is important to point out, that thought your hike, every step you take the difficulty increases because of the lack of oxygen. But that really doesn’t go through your mind because you enjoy every minute you get to spend with these amazing landscapes.

After approximately 6:30 hours of hiking and a lot of pauses, we managed to get to the top. Although you have been hiking for around 6 hours you don’t feel the tiredness in your body, you only feel the satisfaction that is to overcome your fears and reach your goals. Needless to say, the views you get work as a reward.

Although the way back was very exhausting, you got to see every part of your journey for a second time with a different perspective.

This experience is not only beautiful because all the things you get to see, but also because you are able to share your experience with people from all around the world.
