Before becoming a local guide on Google Maps, I was an explorer and adventurer. As a woman, Pakistan was not a women-friendly travel place. All you needed to ask permissions and then protect yourself by being harassed from other travelers, shoppers and other people you meet while travel. After traveling for more than 4 years, I became bored. I was finding something else and I found it.
Touring a rural place - where everything is so organic and real, where every person is simple and straightforward, where food is not fast-food, where everyone does their own small tasks.
Next priority of mine to visit such place. I knew I wanted to do it. I have been noticing that local guides of Pakistan are not visiting rural places and still there are so much places unexplored in Pakistan.
I decided to visit one.
Hawa Gali, Nadirabad it was.
I stayed there for a week and explored each and every aspect; how people manage to put food on their plate, how they save water, how they have been using drainage system, how the trash is being collected, how everything is so different from city life.
It was a different experience and I realized that everyone of us needs to do it.
In that one week, I learned to cook on woods, I learn how to plants trees, I hiked and much more.
In the end, I would like to say that rural tourism is a great concept and this is the most interesting thing I have done as a local guide and would suggest others to put unexplored places into Google Maps
