Bharatpur city locate in Rajasthan and just 180 km away from Delhi capital of India.
Distance between Jaipur and Bharatpur is around 178 km whereas Agra lies at a distance of 55 km from the district. Mathura is located at a distance of 34 km. Bharatpur touches Gurgaon of Haryana in the north
lohagarh, Eastern Gate of Rajasthan was the another name of bharatpur.
Bharatpur is part of National Capital Region.
Maharaja Suraj Mal built the city of Bharatpur.

Our Festival’s-

1.Brij Festival : One of the most important festivals of Bharatpur is the Braj Festival which takes place in Bharatpur every year before Holi.

  1. Gangaur : Gangaur literally means the union of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.

Married women pray to the goddess for the prosperity of their husbands and family while the unmarried women pray to get a good husband in future.

  1. Dussehra Fair : dussehra fair is held in the months of September- October every year.

Tourist Places in Bharatpur :- In bharatpur many tourist places but few places are world famous.

1. KEOLADEV NATIONAL PARK :-

People also called Bharatpur bird sanctury.

The Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary got the status of World Heritage status in the year 1985.

Here 350 species of bird and a wide range of reptiles.

  1. Banke Bihari Temple :-

One of the most popular temples in Bharatpur, Banke Bihari temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna who is also called Banke Bihari by his devotees. Spread in a vast land area, this temple has an architecture that is inspired from the very popular Banke Bihari temple of Vrindavan.

Laxman Temple :-

Set in the heart of Bharatpur, Laxman Temple is one of the most prominent temples of the city. The temple was built by Naaga Baba, a sage.

Ganga Maharani Temple :-

One of the most beautiful temples of Bharatpur, Ganga Maharani Temple was built back in 1845 by the ruler of the city, Maharaja Balwant Singh. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Ganga. The temple has a huge idol of Goddess Ganga with a large image of a crocodile. Holy Ganga Water is distributed to all the devotees as Prasad.

Lohagarh Fort :-

A true symbol of the chivalry and bravery of Bharatpur Jat rulers, the Lohagarh fort stands proudly as one of the strongest forts ever built in the Indian history. Protected by deep moats on all sides, the Lohagarh fort was built in the 18th century.

Kishori Mahal :-

It was built by Maharaja Surajmal in which his emperor Kishori Devi used to stay, so Maharaja Brajendra Singh named it Kishori Mahal, which is still known by the same name. Located in front of the State Museum, this part of the palace looks very magnificent, and perhaps the grand palace of this palace, except for the special castle, there is no one else in Lohagad fort.

Government Museum Bharatpur :-

Bharatpur government museum is a major attraction for all the dwellers of Bharatpur and travellers alike. Located in the heart of Lohargarh fort, it was transformed into a museum in 1944 AD. There is also an art gallery in the museum which comprises the specimens of miniature paintings on leaves of peepal tree, mica and old litho papers. This museum primarily consists of stone sculptures, inscriptions, terracotta items, metallic objects, coins, weapons, miniature paintings and local art. All these items speak volumes about the rich heritage, art and crafts of the region.

After seeing this, you will definitely want to come to Bharatpur.
