Hi guys, I’m writing from Ljubljana, Slovenia and Google just informed me that I’m a level 6 Local guide… Reflecting on that, I put some thought on “what gives” to be a local gudie, … You know… for me.
I’m used to work hard and most of the times in a not-so-awesome office, so you can imagine how important it is for me to spend all my non-office hours in pleasant environments. I’m also quite a foodie and into wine tasting.
Actually, these were the things that drove me to Google local guides community. How so?
Well, on our side of the globe, reviews and ratings were (and sometimes still are) not very helpful, fraudulent or even non-existent.
Now, I cherish my free time spent with my wife and kid the most, so I don’t want to read a book or a blog post every time I find myself on a lookout for a new experience or a simple thing to do … here in Slovenia or abroad.
That’s why I breathe with the Google local guides community, spreading the word locally, as this really helps me free up more time to spend it with my family. Because at the end of the day, time is all we really have.
