More Lockups in Google Maps

I’ve posted before about Google Maps locking up in Chrome on Desktop. In this previously reported lockups the problem was occurring after editing a review. Now I’ve discovered that it also happens after adding a new review and you select the Share. This is happening on desktop when using Chrome.

Hello @AdamGT

That’s an interesting finding.

Are you able to replicate the problem in some other browser?

Nevertheless, I guess the following could be the explanation.

It’s a known fact the data resides in several servers and the syncing isn’t in real-time.

It’s a common finding that when someone posts a photo at a POI, visibility of that on the POI link takes at least two to three days, even though that’s visible in the person’s profile.

Similarly, when one creates a new review, the link to share that may reside somewhere else and yet to be synced. Then, the browser will go in an infinite loop searching for the link.

Thanks for your message and sorry for my late reply @C_T Yes I have tried all the obvious things and I have no idea why but it happens. Can you replicate it?

Hi @AdamGT

I suspect it is due to the current limited functionality of GMB. New reviews by customers, Q&As, and replies to reviews by owners have been disabled.

Some people reported that they can post the review but do not appear, others that cannot post the review. It seems to me that Google implemented the reduced functionality by blocking the posting in the back-end but did not block the front-end interface for the user.

The announcement about the reduced functionality of GMB can be found here
