#monthlytopic of August 2021 - Bread by Tokyo Tony

I would like to thank @HiroyukiTakisawa for hosting this month’s Topic

It is true, not a rumor, nor opinion, that bread in Japan is on the same level as the great patisseries of France. Tokyo now has more Michelin Stars than Paris in almost every food category, 226 to be exact. Can you imagine eating Michelin Star ramen or even yakitori? They have that here, and I have tried them. With that said, the topic for this month is bread, and although my choice is not Michelin ranked it is one of the best in Shibuya.

My Review:

Best tin pan loaf bread I have had in Shibuya. If you heat the bread in the microwave add butter or jam and, wow. Next, the Kouign Amman is the most authentic I have seen in Japan! They are sold in two sizes and I recommend the large one. Very buttery and flakey with no additional sugar added to the top. Very old-school KM.

Hi, @user_not_found It’s a nice bakery! Thank you for sharing this:)

I wanna try “Cranberries and walnuts” and “Quiche” :yum: They look super yummy!

Hi @HiroyukiTakisawa Yes. This is one of the top bakeries in Shibuya. Not only is it popular with the locals, but also the foreign community. Their breakfast menu is highly recommended as it comes with omelets. The only drawback is the long lines. Cranberries and walnuts is super delish.
