When most people think of TOTO, they think of toilets, kitchen systems, and bathtubs.
Originally, TOTO made western-style tableware.
The lighting in the museum is dimmed, so the picture is a little dark.
At that time, we would accumulate considerable efforts to keep up with those of Europe and America.
The reason why the factory was built in Kokura, Kitakyushu, was because of raw materials such as coal from Chikuho in the south and a large port nearby.
The factory made not only Western tableware but also Japanese vases.
We are especially conscious of the color “lapis lazuli”.
This color is currently used as TOTO’s corporate color.
Shifting to sanitary toilets, TOTO also installed the bathrooms in the Japanese Prime Minister’s Office.
Sumo is a Japanese sport, and how do large sumo wrestlers use the restroom?
There is a space where you can experience it.
It is made sturdier and larger than the usual ones.
You can even sit down to try it out at the museum!

We are thinking about making bathrooms with a look that matches the design preferences of various regions.

外観はなんとなくですが、アメリカのロサンゼルスにあるキャピトルタワーに似ている気がします。

TOTOといえば多くの方はトイレ、システムキッチン、浴槽を思い浮かべると思います。
元々は洋食器などを作っておりました。
館内は照明を落としているので、少し暗めに写っています。
当時は欧米のものに負けないようにということで相当な努力を積み重ねます。
北九州の小倉に工場を建てた理由は、南の筑豊からの石炭などの原料、大きな港があったからだそうです。
洋食器だけではなく、日本の花瓶なども作っておりました。
特に色は「瑠璃色」を意識しています。
この色はTOTOのコーポレートカラーとして現在使われています。
衛生便器へのシフトをし、日本国の首相官邸のバスルームもTOTOが設置しておりました。
さて、日本のスポーツである相撲、大柄な相撲取りはどのようにトイレを使うのでしょう？
それを体験できるスペースもあります。
通常のものより丈夫に作られ、更に大きくなっています。
ミュージアムでは試しに座ることも可能ですよ！
そしてTOTOの未来へ。
様々な地域のデザインの好みに合わせた外観を考えてバスルームの作りを考えています。
施設内のトイレは最新のものを使うことができます。
