I love chocolates and that doesn’t do a wonderful job on my weight and size, but that’s not the issue at hand here!!!. My favourite is Bounty. What I love most about it is the crunchy taste of the coconuts chips in the middle. It’s so soft and appetizing.
Anyways, another reason why I am interested in this topic is because, Ghana as a country was one time highest producer of cocoa in the world, so we see a lot of chocolates around here.
Although record has it that Ivory Coast a neighbouring French speaking country is the highest producer of cocoa in the world thus making Ghana the 2nd which is still a credible position. Ivory Coast produces 38% of the cocoa beans used in the world and it’s quite famous in west Africa for chocolate production.
Facts about chocolate/cocoa
Ecuador has the world’s best cocoa beans.
About 70% of the world’s cocoa for chocolate production comes from West African countries like Ivory Coast, Ghana, Nigeria and Cameroun.
Dark chocolate is good for the heart.
The world’s finest chocolate is produced in Chicago having sold more than 5 million chocolate bars
Mexico as a country invented Chocolate more than 4000yrs ago.
Hi @SholaIB Thanks for sharing, I love chocolate too. My favorite is Snickers . I aslo buy milked chocolate with groundnut. And thanks for sharing interesting facts about Cocoa exporting countries of Africa . Out of sentiment, I wish Nigeria is the largest exporterexporter, season it has the largest land mass among the exporters.
Thanks for your reply. Yes I love stickers too as you can see I got some but Bounty is my favourite.
Yes Nigeria has a high potential to be the highest exporters and producers. Maybe it will get around to it someday. Planning to visit a chocolate factory here if possible and write a post about it as well.
Thanks a lot for sharing this very yummy post dear @SholaIB . I love chocolate very much. Some of the chocolates in your post are also found here in Bangladesh. Very tempting post indeed. Stay safe. Regards.
Imagine!!! I thought I am the only one does that . That’s interesting to know. Infact I have more craving for chocolate since you initiated the topic .
Hope I can get to stop now when the post is done !!!

Thank you for educating us on your country’s chocolate. The Ivory Coast is well known for a coffee bean called Robusta, and even though it is a coffee bean it tastes just like cocoa! Being from Ghana, I think you can enjoy not only real authentic cocoa but robusta coffees as well. Is Bounty a local brand? Do some Ghanians make their own chocolates from cocoa?
