The spring festival by different names in India - Pohela Boishakh in West Bengal, Bohag Bihu in Assam, Puthandu in Tamil Nadu, Bihu in Uttarakhand, Pooram Vishu in Kerala, and Maha Vishuva Sankranti in Odisha.

The Nanakshahi calendar is a tropical solar calendar used in Sikhism. It is based on the “Barah Maha” (Twelve Months), a composition composed by the Sikh gurus reflecting the changes in nature conveyed in the twelve-month cycle of the year. The year begins with the month of Chet,
Vaisakhi, also pronounced Baisakhi, marks the first day of the month of Vaisakha and is celebrated on 13 or 14 April as the Hindu and Sikh solar new year.It is a spring harvest festival for many Indian’s.
Vaisakhi 2022 will be celebrated on 14th April. Which is beginning of solar year which is celebrate in North India :india: specifically in Punjab to pay gratitude to God for good harvest . We get up early morning,some go take holy dip in sarvorar.We people visit near by Gurudwara’s do prayers, listen hyms & have langar together without any discrimination of rich & poor.

Significant of Vaisakhi festival.
Vaisakhi Celebration is carried out with lots of Joy along with traditional dancing & singing celebrated in Punjab & neighbouring state Harayan.
The festival has lot’s of significance among the farmer’s as it’s harvest of crop ( Rabi Crop) .
Origin of Vaisakhi festival.
In year 1567 Guru Amar Das ji commenced vaisakhi / Baisakhi all sikh gather to receive blessings of Guru’s.
History behind celebration of Vaisakhi.
According to the Sikh literature, tenth Sikh Guru Gobind Singh who choose this day for laying the foundation of Sikh brotherhood, ‘Khalsa Panth ’ ☬ in the year 1699.And also looked as Sikh New Year.
Guru Gobind Singh ji who was know as last living Guru of Sikhism formed Khalsa ( to be pure, to be clear, to be free from) along with formation of khalsa Panth an army was formed to fight against the evil of the society & Mughal Emperor’s.
It army was formed to fight against Aurangzeb

Jallianwala Bagh Massacre took place on 13 th April on 1919 on baisakhi day large number of people had gather to protest at Amritsar General Dyer had order of fire & shoot people. Thousands of people could exit because of narrow lane surrounded by troops many of them jumped into well.

Dear @RosyKohli Ji, thanks a lot for sharing this nice post about new year celebration in April. I came to about a lot of things from this post. Thanks for sharing. By the way, Pohela Boishakh (Bengali new year) is celebrated on April 14 instead of April 15, in West Bengal and Bangladesh. Best wishes for your meet-up. Stay safe.
