Klasse!
What an interesting post @LightRich . I love the nice cover photo you created that includes even a smartphone mockup. It’s nice to do that you described the experience on mobile and desktop.
Wow, Lalo with his spreadsheet and Terry with the manual tracking- now that’s extra dedication!
Great article @LightRich ! Loved reading it, and found out why I don’t have that fancy new feature for ‘new views’ (Apple user here lol).
Have to admit the system @AdamGT has made is unbelievably convenient and easy to use. I would never have the time to track all that by myself. Kudos to those that have though.
Great idea @LightRich You have have to be as ruthless as I am, but guides can make up their own criteria or plan, but none the less we should all be cleaning up our Photos, otherwise Google does it for you eventually
@MelTG , I’m a freelance writer working on a story about Google Maps photo contributors. I’d love to chat with you. Would you please contact me at hkeely on gmail?
@MelTG Thank you! I got this message “You have reached the limit for number of private messages that you can send for now. Please try again later.” I’m new to this forum and that’s the first private message I’ve sent. My email address is just my username at gmail.
" I mean, I had thought about create my own charts for track my contributions but i didn´t have the time to do that and when i found this system it really saved a lot of time for me. Beside that, now I have access to a different kind of aspects and views I´ve never thought about before. " @LightRich
I couldn’t have said it better, myself.
I had often thought about creating some sort of spreadsheet but never made the time. I still keep a notebook with stats like @TerryPG but it’s basic. The Leaderboards that @AdamGT has created and continuously improved upon, make the process so much simpler. They’re also fun, foster a spirit of community and provide multiple ways to learn and grow as Local Guides.
Your post is an excellent example of how all those great aspects have worked for you and how they can do the same for others.
Very interesting formula @TerryPG You may have published it before and I couldn’t find it again when I needed it. Will copy and save it this time.
Taking a look at mine, there are also some photos of businesses which have closed or changed names (with the accompanying change of colours or logos). This makes the photo irrelevant now. What is your usual practice on those?
Unfortunately @tony_b you really have to remove that photo, if it’s still gathering decent amount of reviews I may leave it for a while, but in all honesty we should remove it , especially change of name, I recently had a featured photo of a great local Italian restaurant but they changed their signage to a more modern sign and now my photo becomes redundant, It hurts because it had over 3 million views, and I reluctantly removed it from Google.
Hi! My photo views’ graphic curve is always a perfect ascending straight line. Isn’t this a little strange? Wouldn’t they be exponential, as I keep adding new photos, or variable? As I think photo views count are exaggerated (I know they count impressions, not real clicks), I started to doubt if the curves are real or not. What’s your opinion?
Cheers,
Milton
