Mongolian nomads.

There are only 3m people living here in Mongolia. And about half of them live in the countryside in the open field. They don’t need to pay taxes for using the fields and pasture. They can move wherever they want, but usually they follow their livestock because of the quality of the grass. As I mentioned there are 1.5m people who live in the countryside, furthermore half of them are semi-nomadic (we used to call) which means they live in the open field during the warm months and move back to the villages when the winter starts. Therefore only 500-600 thousands of nomadic herders are left in the world.

Hi @Tseye

Breathtaking view! Thank you for sharing. Do you live in Mongolia or did you have this amazing chance to go there on vacation? I’ve heard that the nature there is so pure and untouched and I hope it stays that way.

Where is this place in your photo? Are those houses people live in, in the background? What do you like most about Mongolia?

Thank you.

Those houses are called “Ger” also known as a Yurt (russian), i’ll explain more specifically in my next post. This is Ovorkhangai province (one of the biggest provinces in Mongolia)

one day I will… :slightly_smiling_face: @Tseye
