I took a course in Environmental Accounting @ Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka Nigeria that rekindled my concern for the environment. This prompted me to practice the Reuse Recyle Reduce slogan starting from my home. I reduced the volume of papers in my house, separating the ones l can reuse again, while the rest were recycled

I started by calling recycle outfits in Ibadan Nigeria to sell the papers to

  1. Starich Recyling Coy

  2. Mottainai Recyling & Waste Mgt

  3. Bee Recyling

  4. Waste to Wealth

  5. PetsPoint

  6. Sadiq Plastic Recyling Ltd

  7. Planet 3R

They all told me they accept only plastics. I was not giving up and so the search continued until on the 26th of May 2022 just by the Gate of my Church l meet Mama Micheal who fixed a date with me to buy the waste paper @ the rate of N50 per kg

Day 1; 28/4/2022

Paper waste weighed 96 kg amounting to N4,800

Day 2; 02/05/2022

Paper waste weighed 109 kg

Amounting to N5,450

Total cash made N10,250 (about $20)

Wow!

Thanks to this platform, I learnt about recycling. Since then, I have been keeping all my plastics, I have been looking for a way to recycle them in Lagos though…

So far, my efforts have been futile @ogewuru
