Monet exhibit at The de Young in San Francisco

The Monet early year exhibit is now at The de Young museum. Artwork is gathered from private collections at museums. The exhibit gives us a glimpse of his fascination for water lilies which he’s famous for.

The exhibit gives you a glance over his fascination for water lilies came from. one thing we both agreed upon was that it is too view the paintings from a distance. you can see the texture from the brushstrokes and layering of the paints. Next to each painting it shows a year which it was painted and where the painting was loan from.

Hi @Twister411 ,

That’s wonderful! Did you like the exhibition? I saw a Monet exhibition as well in Vienna a few years back and it was quite interesting to me.

@DanniS yes it was fantastic. I finally got an annual pass to The de YoungYoun hoping I can go again when it’s less crowded. I also want to see the other rooms when I have more time.

@Twister411 fantastic! Do they have exhibitions of other painters as well or just more rooms from Monet’s art? I also enjoy seeing the work of the famous painters and imagine what it was like for them painting these beautiful paintings.

How much is it for a one time visit for the museum?

@DanniS we also saw the Gauguin exhibit. They have several more rooms of in the museum. They have their own collection that I believe gets rotated.

Hi @Twister411 ,

Oh amazing! Gauguin seems interesting as well! How exciting to visit! Thanks a lot for sharing these lovely art works!
