Missing Home (Middle East)

Hey guys,

Little about me, I was born and raised in the Middle east. I’m sure many of you can relate to that aspect of life being in one place for a long time and having to move to a new one.

About a year ago I moved to Lahore, Pakistan which on paper is my home country but I was in cultural shock and started missing home (Saudi Arabia). I missed my friends, our road trips, get together and most of all food.

I have to admit I never thought Food, would be such a huge factor.

After spending few weeks I started looking for places that may resonate with me and bring some of the joy I could experience back home. Luckily I wasn’t the only one and started meeting people who where going through the same struggle.

It took about 6 months exploring, going to new places, trying new cuisines and meeting more friends that we have found our footing. A taste of home away from home.

Found good Arab restaurants and few good cafes to hangout, enjoy the meals and even share our new experiences and old memories.

Music is food for soul and with actual food that you love along with amazing friends is what Life is all about.

2 places that I want to add are ‘Roosters’ as an alternate for ‘Al-Baik’ and ‘Bait Al Mandi’ for all the Mandi lovers out there.

I hope this helps you to experience the place I recommend and if maybe also inspire to find your circle of Joy.
