Mismatch between Contributions and Fact Finder Badges

Hi all,

I was hoping someone might be able to help me understand why my Local Guide account main page under Number of Contributions it shows 131 Edits but when I look at my badges, it shows just 12 Edits.

I have attached some pictures to demonstrate what I mean.

Is it that only certain types of edits are eligible to count towards the badge?

Thanks for your help!

Hi @Kylebaker89

Welcome to the community.

It takes some days for the contributions to be counted for the stats and more to be counted for the badges.

On the other hand, sometimes if a user did bad edits, Google may doesn’t count those for the badge.

This is applicable to other contributions, too.

In your case, I guess the reason is the first one I mentioned.

By the way, I see you posted this question on the wrong board. So, please edit it and change its main tag to “How-tos”. To know more about Connect and its board you can see Your Guide to Connect.

Hi Amir,

Yes that is what I was thinking as well but I’ve looked through my edits on my profile and they go back years (see attached picture). Ive gone and counted up the “Accepted” ones and they add up to alot more than 12. Quite confusing!

@Kylebaker89

In practice is it currently not possible to check facts for the Factfinder badges.

You may find my post on How to check some facts - these days! helpful.
Also, please pay special attention to this update.

Cheers

It is good to add @ and then the name of who you want to mention, so we receive a notification/email about it.

You’re right. Your edits are old enough. So, the 2nd reason I told may be the case, and in this regard note that the system may take wrong decisions, too! Still, you can do new good edits to earn the badge. You can have a look at Local Guides Clean the Map. There are lots of things to do around you.

@Amiran

Yes fair enough, I guess I will have to keep editing away!

Looking at that guide you shared, there seem to be plenty of ideas to make helpful edits :joy:
