Minimum requirements for Local Guides list to be eligible

Can someone please explain to me what this means exactly? Do I list (in a title) 4 places I want to go, need to go, have to go, or just in general? Then share them publicly?

The program requirements are a little vague on this. So I just wanted clarification.

Thanks!!

Hi @mhcrumpton

All the information are on this announcement: New: Earn points for making amazing lists

@mhcrumpton , good question to ask here on Connect.

As what @ErmesT has provided you in terms of links, these are guidelines. There are no minimum number of places for a Google Maps list per se by Google. They are suggesting these tips for you to get better results.

In order to earn Local Points, you have to make your list “public.” You can also keep your list “private” (only you can see) or “shared” (if you want to share it among friends or family only), but you will not earn Local Points as a list because you have not made it “public” (anyone with the Google Maps app can see your list).

As for your list title. you don’t need to list the 4 places in it, but create a helpful title with the subject and location regarding your list: “Best Pizza in NYC” or “Kid-friendly Parks in Miami.”

Again, take a look at Ermes’ links and watch the Local Guides YouTube about list creating.

Good luck, Happy Google Maps List creating!

Cheers,

Karen
