Hello friends,
I am happy to share the image of Methu Vadi made in our home on the Tamil New year day Celebrations (14-04-2020 - தமிழ் வருடப்பிறப்பு).
During the festive season in Tamil Nadu, it is one of the dish (Vadai - Payasam).
There are many different types of food in South India. One of them is Vadai. There are many different types. It is Methu Vadai - மெதுவடை
It is prepared with Black-gram.
Preparation:
First, soak the Black-gram in water, After soaking (1Hr) grind in wedgrinder or mixe add less water and grind.
After that add:
Finley chopped Onion, Green Chilly, Ginger, Curry leaves, Coriander leaves, one tablespoon raw rice powder and Salt as needed.
Mix well then.
1 . Heat oil in a deep heavy bottom pan on a medium heat till hot enough .
2 . Take small portions of batter . Shape to a ball , slightly flatten with thumb, Make a hole in the center .
3 . Gently slide that in the hot oil
4 . Fry medu vada till they turn golden on both sides
5 . After golden colour comes Take that and place it in the plates. Serve with low heat.

@RtnArulPrakasamT would this be similar to the Indian pakora? I I have tried the pakora so many times but I haven’t tried this dish.
