Memorial Complex of Glory in the city of Kharkov

Hello. Today I was at the Memorial Complex of Glory in the city of Kharkov (Ukraine). I want to share my story, my photos and panoramas.

Now I will tell you a little story. June 22, 1941 at 4 am in the USSR (country). It includes such modern countries as: Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Estonia. )) was attacked by fascist Germany. There is even such a song. This war lasted 1418 days (4 years). On May 1, 1945, Alexei Berest, Mikhail Egorov and Meliton Kantaria hoisted a red flag (Victory Banner: [(Wikipedia)](https://ru.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Зна%20% BC% D1% 8F_% D0% 9F% D0% BE% D0% B1% D0% B5% D0% B4% D1% 8B) and announced to the world: “Soviet soldiers defeated the hated enemy.” In this war, about 41 million citizens of the USSR died. On May 9, 1945, Nazi Germany surrendered completely. Now this day is a holiday of sorrow and joy - the Day of the Great Victory. The mayor of Kharkov every year on May 9, August 23 (August 23, Kharkov was completely freed from the Germans) lays flowers at the eternal flame, like millions of people throughout Ukraine and tens of millions around the world.

My relatives also took part in this war. If someone wants to, I can tell you about them, but for now I’ll just write their names:

Logvinov Ivan Mironovich (died and disappeared during the war, had 5 children)

Logvinov Philip Mironovich (Killed and buried in Romania. Before the war, preparing for the wedding)

Krivolapov Nikita Mikhailovich (died 1984)

Krivolapov Dmitry Mikhailovich (died 1967)

Bunyaev Nikolay Vladimirovich (Alive, now he is 93 years old).

Now about the memorial complex of glory:

In 1977, the Memorial Complex of Glory was opened in Kharkov, which immortalized the memory of the great feat of Soviet soldiers who fought for our freedom and life on earth. The complex was opened in Lesopark, near the northern border of the city. It was here that the Nazis executed tens of thousands of Soviet soldiers, partisans, prisoners of war and ordinary citizens.

The memorial consists of three granite steles with not lowered cast banners, which symbolize that the city did not submit to the enemy and fought to the end. In the center of the memorial there is a majestic stele on which the history of that bloody war, its suffering and joy of meeting is carved. Nearby is the pedestal of the Mother-land, which froze in mournful silence in memory of her lost sons and daughters. Around the clock, for many years, the mother’s heart beats mournfully, it can be heard from afar. This is how her heart beats (Video): https://photos.app.goo.gl/7WVLv293Zmb2QQzJA . An eternal fire burns at her feet, which will never go out, reminding us of the feat of those who laid down their lives for peace and freedom.

On gray granite gold letters: “Heroes do not die. They gain immortality and remain forever in our memory, in our achievements, in the great deeds of future generations. Their descendants owe their lives to them. "

186 thousand 306 Soviet soldiers died in the battles for Kharkov. Their names are immortalized on the steles of the memorial. 230 Kharkiv residents received the title of Hero of the Soviet Union for their courage and valor in battles.

I took a lot of photos and a few panoramas. You can wa tch them here:
