This is a mesmerizing place located in the North of Sikkim, India. This place is also known as “Valley of Flowers”. We visited this beautiful scenic place during the month of December, which was the start of Snowfall. The guide informed us that the flowering season in this valley usually starts in February and end in June. So, sadly we did not get the chance of seeing the natures picturesque flowers sanctuary. But the beautiful mountains partially covered in the snow offered some breathtaking views for me personally. This was the first time, I found myself feeling so close to the nature. This place is at higher elevation (~11,700 Ft) and the wind was chilled because of the start of the winter season.
We traveled from Gangtok (Capital city of Sikkim) to Lachung and stayed overnight. The next day early morning we started the journey to this beautiful place. We had a booked taxi and we boarded it around 4:00 AM and it took us approximately 2 hours to reach our destination. I strongly recommend all my fellow local guides (especially Indians) who love nature to do visit this beautiful nature paradise in our incredible India.
@VinayKrishna We hired a tourist guide along with his SUV car. The condition of the roads leading to the valley area were extremely dangerous with only one lane. In my opinion, only experienced off road drivers can drive in such conditions.
@LaloPadilla The surrounding mountains partially covered in snow was worth watching, please do keep this wonderful place in your bucket list if you are planning to visit India.
@Ant_Bad_Yogi We did not had the proper hiking gear and the weather was too cold (~-1 C), So, because of these reasons we did not try the hiking experience.
@Kian1510 you don’t have to imitate me, everyone has a unique identity which is beautiful in its own way. Thanks for the encouraging words and please do share your wonderful experiences on this platform.
Absolutely beautiful views @fasi6083 I really wish I could go there right now! It would be a perfect place to set up a tent and stay for a few days. Do you know if that’s possible?
@MortenSI I think a Permit is needed for camping at this site. The tourist guides will be the right persons to answer this question. We stayed at Lachung for a night and traveled to this scenic spot in the early next morning.
