Melbourne's first ArtCade is now open

A new hotel, apartment and shopping complex is being built on the Western end of Melbourne’s CBD called West Side Place within the building there is going to be an up market shopping arcade but the developers aren’t quite ready for the shops to move in yet. A number of local Melbourne artists collaborated on producing Melbourne’s first ArtCade in what will eventually become shops. This is a win win because it promotes the new building and raises people’s awareness of it while at the same time providing gallery space for six months for some of Melbourne’s best including Adnate, John Aslandis and Mayonaize, Lisa King, Meggs, Reke Rennie, Rone and George Rose.

The Australia Day / Invasian Day photowalk will be starting at this ArtCade on 26th of January you can find out more information on this post here on Connect.
