Caption Mehrangarh Fort Jodhpur Rajasthan India.
Mehrangarh Fort is one of the largest hill fort of Rajsthan.
I had visited on 27th January 2019. I was on a Road trip from Bhopal to Sam Sand Dunes Jaisalmer and Return was via Gujrat. This tour was full of excitement.
It’s also known as Sun Fort. It was built by Rao Jodha in 1459. Foundation stone was laid by Lady Sage Karni Mata. It’s having seven gates, many palaces, Gardens, Temples etc. Most of the palaces are turned to museums. In all museums a vast collection of Royals arms, planquins, courtly life, howdahs, etc are displayed. Mostly it was built by Rao Jaswant Singh in his reign from 1638 to 1678AD.
It’s situated about 450’ above the City. And easily accessible by Road. Entry fee is nominal and lift is available to access the peak at a reasonable fare. This fort is declared as National Geological Monument by the Geological Survey of India. This fort is controlled by the Rathores of Marwar. I am sure this visit will be joyful. The majestic glamour architecture and amazingly valuable collections are very attractive.
