I was a bit worried about hosting a meet-up for the very first time. Meet-up related topics covered in this connect forum helped me to plan better for the meetup. I have printed some Local Guides stickers, name-tags and a poster for the event. I reached the venue earlier.
We started our meet-up by sticking the Local Guides sticker to each other and filling the blank name tag. Introduction was not required as the attendees were already known to me. We placed our Meet-up poster on a small pillar near the Meetup location. I have discussed about the Local Guides Program and how they can contribute better as a local guide. I have answered to the questions by the attendees about this program. We had a photo walk to the nearby places and for some of the places attendees contributed live in the Google Maps.
Completing the photo walk we reached to the Cafe Royal. Using my laptop I have conducted a live online quiz through the website (https://kahoot.com). I gave a Quechua Hiking Bagpack as a gift to the top scorer. We also had snacks & ice cream here. Finally saying Thanks! We ended our meet-up.
Finally i realized hosting a meet-up is fun, exciting and enjoyable. Looking forward to host a Meet-up again.
