I always like to learn new things, help others and meet new people.Suddenly I realized that being a local guide I can do these at a time, simultaneously!
I became a local guide last year and started helping people with my contributions.Yesterday, (29th November) I attended my very first meetup,meetup-123, where I learned many new things and met a bunch of amazing people. And now,I am posting in Connect live for the first time!!
As it was an experience sharing meetup @MahabubMunna vai shared his wonderful experience of Connect Liveâ2019, some pictures and videos.I was inspired by this session.
I am new in this city and I donât know most of the roads and places.Thank you Dolon vai,Papon vai and your friends for taking me with you. Finally I like to thank all the organizers for arranging such an awesome event.
@B_Barna Nice post with good pictures. Hope we will meet again in other meet up. If you have any questions or queries regarding Dhaka city life, please knock me. I am happy to provide all the support. Nice to meet you.
@B_Barna Congratulations on your first meet up. 29th November 2019 was great day of Bangladesh Local Guides Community. Personally I enjoyed the whole program very much. When I attended meet up program like this, I am waiting to learn new things.
Congratulations @B_Barna on your first post on Connect as well as on your first meet up. Your post clearly explains how you enjoyed attending the meetup. And guess what, I loved reading your post as well. It always feels great to hear about an event from a fresher. Iâm glad you enjoyed participating. We will hope to see you in more meetups in future.
It was a great initiative by @LyricMitra that she encouraged female local guides to be more active. Personally I donât like to segregate us from the mainstream. But I understand the necessity of encouraging the female Local Guides to be more active. Thank you Lyric for taking the effort. Why donât you and @B_Barna also take an initiative to host a meetup for girls only? And request each Local Guide to bring one non-LG friend with them so that you can share the Local Guides spirit and motto with them and encourage them to be a part of the program as well. I think that will be more interactive and fun. And you never know, you might end up having some wonderful new stars under the Bangladesh Local Guides umbrella as well. Just my two cents.
Thank you so much @SoniaK apu.I think I could not explain in words how much I enjoyed the meet up.I was listening to @LyricMitra apu as if she is saying magical words! I was eagerly waiting to hear something from Sumaiya Zafrin apu.I was inspired mainly as she shared the story behind the starting of her being a local guide. She is really amazing. You all are our inspiration.
I am not saying about gender issue, but there were only about 4% female guides in such a big meet up.We girls should also come forward to contribute more in the community as our male friends are doing so.
Thats what I am saying @B_Barna . Arrange to host a meet up. Invite all the female Local Guides only. And ask each LG to bring one female friend along with them. And then share your LG experience and knowledge. Then see, how you inspire more girls to join the program. This is true Bangladesh is lacking a lot of activities from female LGs. And we need to encourage girls to come forward to be a part of the maps. @LyricMitra will know what I am talking about.
