Meet the Mass Transit System of Metro Manila, Philippines

Hi Local Guides of the world over!

I want to share my newest-found passion in Guiding  I’ve been away from my home country the Philippines for almost 7 years and since then a lot has changed in the capital cities of Metro Manila where I have now moved back. I am especially excited as there’s been many advances in the transportation infrastructure as the country has been experiencing sustained economic growth year-on-year.

The downside though is that the Local Guides community here is still in its infancy so there’s not too much helpful information that you can find in Maps about these new train lines and transportation routes and hubs that are rapidly evolving.

This is where I come in! I’m a frequent commuter and I prefer taking public transportation (if I can’t get to a destination on foot) over private cars. As I go about my day, I’m snapping pictures and recording useful videos at these locations, taking note of operation hours and station names for possible edits, and adding new businesses that may be located within these areas.

I’ll also be holding the first meet-ups here in the Metro Manila area here in the coming weeks and months to educate other passionate people about the program as well so we can collectively help Filipino commuters go about their daily travels more efficiently. Very eager to expand and strengthen our local LG community here!

Below are some images of the mass transit system here in the country, a lot more are up and coming.

Thanks and hope you guys can make it to Manila someday to experience all these, cheers!

@Alifia98 I’m sure that’ll be awesome! There’ll be hiccups I bet too but in the long-run it really helps us daily commuters

Gorgeous pictures! Trains have always fascinated me - the chug chug, the clinking against the rails, the rush of people. Such an exciting way to travel!
