This beautiful city has attractions. There are many places that make this tinsel town one of the most popular travel destinations in India. In this article, we will discuss about those wonderful places which I love sharing most on Google Maps and tell you why you must visit them on your blissful trip to Ludhiana.

Maharaja Ranjit Singh War Museum

Maharaja Ranjit Singh War Museum is situated on GT Road.

Covering an area of about 4 acres, the main aim of the museum is to create a general awareness about the defence services. A huge statue of Maharaja Ranjit Singh sitting magnificently on a throne is placed at the entrance.The museum has many galleries showcasing various categories

PAU Museum

The Punjab Agriculture University was set up in 1962 as a replica of the Land Grant of America. This Museum is situated within the premises of Punjab Agricultural University and is one of the significant educational sightseeing points of Ludhiana.

The museum of this university comprises local arts, crafts and several other varieties of ancient objects. It also displays various farming equipments and old bronze utensils.

Lodhi Fort

The mesmerizing Lodhi Fort, built by the famous Muslim ruler Sikander Lodhi around 500 years ago, is the pride of Ludhiana. This majestic castle is in ruins now, yet a lot of tourists visit this place to experience the age old beauty, which reflects the great architecture of Mughal period. Built on the banks of River Satluj, the fort was erected as a military castle to stop intruders from entering the city. A lot of people visit this place for sightseeing as it is surrounded by lush green landscapes and offers a view of river Satluj.

Punjab Agricultural University (PAU)

The Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) is a state agricultural university in Ludhiana. It was established in 1962 and is the nation’s third-oldest agricultural university. It has an international reputation for excellence in agriculture.

PAU pioneered the Green Revolution in India in the 1960s and is considered as one of the best agricultural universities in India. The university covers an area of 1,510 acres (6.1 km2) on its main campus.

Hardy’s World

It is across a huge land across Ludhiana on the Ludhiana-Jalandhar highway. Rakh Bagh Park

With lush green landscape and a toy train, Rakh Bagh Park of Ludhiana is a favourite spot for children, joggers and walkers.

The park is a leisure space for the locals and tourists with its well-maintained garden. Revamped from the British Era the toy train never ceases to grab the attention of the children as it rides around the park.

Hawai Adda

Permanently parked at the Verka Milk Bar premises on Ferozepur Road, this restaurant houses a dining area, a bakery, a kitty hall, and a cafe.

It is an actual Airbus 320 which once flew for Air India. This junk airbus was brought in parts from Delhi and engineers redesigned it.

Ludhiana is known for its great food. some ‘not to be missed’ dishes are cream chicken at Chawla Chicken, butter chicken at Baba Chicken, kababs and tikkas from Roche, samosas from College Road and get your sweet fix of kulfi at Basant’s.

Ice Cream Studio: I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream. This is the newest rage in town. Rolls,sundaes, waffles, it’s raining sweet delights here.

Gurudwara Manji Sahib

It is a significant pilgrim site for devotees; it is said to be one of the most religious shrines in Punjab.

Gurudwara Charankanwal Sahib Machhiwara

It is of great importance to the Sikh community, who believes that the place where the Gurudwara is constructed is the same spot where Guru Gobind Singh rested while fighting against the massive Mughal force

Rara Sahib Gurudwara

Rara Sahib Gurudwara is one of the best tourist attractions in Ludhiana, visited by devotees from different parts of Punjab and outside. Sikhism followers believe in the holiness of the place and so they visit this place to get some peace and solace from the hubbub of the city life.

Pir-I-Dastgir Shrine

This is a tomb of a famous Muslim saint Abdul Kadir Galani, visited by both Hindu and Muslim pilgrims from around the city and even outside. It is located inside the Ludhiana Fort and is known for its unique architecture and design.

Shivala Sangliwala Temple

This magnificent temple is believed to be around 400 years old and is located in the Old Ludhiana, attracting tourists from all over the world. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva and every year during Shivratri, pilgrims from distant areas visit this temple to offer holy water of River Ganges to the idol of Lord Shiva.

During Shivratri, the temple witnesses long queues, waiting to catch a glimpse of Lord Shiva. A lot of people take a difficult journey of Kanwar from Haridwar to Ludhiana to offer holy water of River Ganges to Shivalingams.

As discussed before, Ludhiana has a lot of places to visit but I would recommend people to visit the above mentioned places for sure to have an amazing time.
