Meet local guide (Indonesia)

Dear All,

Salam sehat selalu.

First post here :slightly_smiling_face:

Just wonder if any local guide here would be interested to share any info about your area (either must see, must do, must eat, must drink place). Plan to have some road trip around Indonesia when the situation of covid 19 get better. But before that would love to collect more information and knew more people that has some interest like me to contribute on google map :slightly_smiling_face: Really look forward to explore beautiful Indonesia

Cheers,

Jenny

Hi @missmihu00

Welcome to Connect and congratulations on your first post.

It is nice to know that you are looking to meet local guides in your area.

Here are a few tips and easy ways to connect with local guides in the shortest possible time.

1. Favorite Locations

To easily connect with Local Guides in your local area, you may want to try the Favorite Locations feature.
Go to your settings page and add up to 3 locations after which posts created by local guides from those cities will be listed on the main page.

Tip: If you are traveling to a new place temporarily, you can remove and add the new one. Changes reflect immediately. Following that you can connect with local guides from the new place.

2. Browse Older Posts

Browse through older posts of local guides from a place and check if they are still active and would be interested in a meetup. Chances are enthusiastic local guides did not find enough people to connect some time back and respond to your comments.

3. Private Messages

Send a private message to local guides using the feature here on Connect.

4 . Upcoming Meet-ups

A meet-up is meant to explore new places and make friends with local guides in your community. Check for upcoming meetups in the Meet-ups section.

By clicking the Show All button circled (2) in the image below you can also search for meetups by location.

5. Previous Meet-ups

Leave a reply on past meetups.

Search The LG Connect community for the word recap that is used by most local guides in their post-meetup reports. You can then search through past meetups telling the local guides that you missed it and leave a request to notify you when the next meetup is hosted.

6. Conduct a meet-up

Use the Submit meet-up button circled (1) in the image above to host a meetup. This would be a great way to reach out to the local guide community in that place proactively.

7. Do not hesitate

Go ahead and post a message seeking local guides in a city like this person from Bangalore did and got a good response.

Make sure you add a location to the post as shown in the image below.

Hope you find these useful.

and don’t forget to tag me in the recap post of your meetup

Dear Jenny @missmihu00

My name is Rasyid, local guide from Jombang, East Java. I am currently living and working in Tulungagung, a coastal town in southern part of Java. There are lots to do here in Tulungagung. You might find many breathtaking beaches here like Popoh, Prigi, Gemah, Coro and Banyu Muluk.

As you look straight to the south you can see Australia here. You could also feel the majestic vibes of Nyi Roro Kidul while enjoying fish barbeque with your loved ones here

Rasyid,

Tulungagung Indonesia.

Thank you for mentioning me @Nyainurjanah

Hello @missmihu00
I live in Malang City, and currently working in Kuningan Regency. Almost every week, I travel back and forth. I am an admin in several local guide groups in Indonesia and globally.

So, meeting local guides in Indonesia is quite easy. Just look for posts here that contain the name of the city you are looking for. Contact via message. And ask to meet.

You can also join our social media groups, such as the link in the signature section below my comments. Local guides from all over the archipelago have joined there.

Lastly, there are also Whatsapp groups. You can send me a phone number so I can add you to the group and interact with other local guides.

Meanwhile, that’s all I can inform you. Hope it helps.

Regards, Brian
