Meet Kevin: The most interesting thing I've ever done as a Local Guide!

The most interesting thing I’ve ever done as a Local Guide is the fact I travel to brand new places only to fulfill my role as a Google Local Guide. I would research new places that have a set date to open and prepare to make my travel there. While doing so, I take note of the information provided such as the location, hours, official website, contact number, and opening date. I then add the information I’ve gathered to Google Maps after creating the place. If some information are not available, I would leave it for the time being and will update as soon as the place’s website updated their information. There is a great satisfaction when I see all the needed information available for the new place! I check credible websites frequently to ensure the information is available, true, and updated so I can put them into Google Maps for everyone to see. I also enjoy traveling to new places to have new and exciting experiences while making memories. Having to travel and assist others to make the world a better place by being a Local Guide is the perfect combination! When it is time to visit the destination, I go excited and prepared to take lots of pictures and videos all while making memories. Very fittingly, I’ve used my Google Pixel phone for my travels and continuing to do so with my Google Pixel 4 :iphone:

Speaking of the Google Pixel, I’ve received a limited edition case for the phone from Google! For providing assistance to those who want to travel from one place to another by creating destinations, checking facts, adding/correcting edits, and adding photos. My content has been viewed millions of times, which is great because those are the people I am helping and impacting. One of my most impactful photos is one with Pacific Sunwear reaching over 900,000 views! There is also Hudson Yard’s Vessel NYC landmark with my review being read over 31,900 times that is filled with factual information and my experience! Because I have helped hundreds of people all over the world, I have been the top 1% of Local Guides in New York multiple times. There is a satisfaction that comes from knowing I made a positively noteworthy impact to the world!

I’ve created numerous destinations, and traveled to those destinations to provide tons of useful photos and detailed information from its location to its official website.

Some of these created destinations include Union Square Holiday Market:

Pier 17’s Winterland:Photo of Skyline Hall event venue (left), and Winterland Rooftop entrance/exit (middle)
City University of New York’s Academic Complex:Photo of escalators leading to upper and lower levels of Academic Complex

I am encouraged to share tons of content, as doing so keeps memories of my experiences of places I travel to! As well as making an impact to millions of Google Map users that need help finding their way. I am a proud Local Guide and will continue to contribute to the world. Having to travel to a brand new place and be one of the first Local Guides to add credible information is the most interesting thing I have ever done as a Local Guide!
