I landed in Mexico 2 years ago from Argentina.
Having studied to become a professional chef, in Buenos Aires I used to visit many exotic restaurants, and what I liked the most was Mediterranean food.
We were regular customers in a place called Mykonos, near our house, and the quality was always excellent.
When I arrived in Metepec, I loved Mexican food, which is proud and of great variety. After a while, I felt nostalgia for other foods, like Italian, which is common in Argentina, but not here.
One day, speaking with a mother from my oldest son’s school, he told me that his father is Lebanese and that he has a restaurant here in Metepec called Casa Beirut. Knowing of its proximity, I decided to go and try some dishes.
What I found was exactly what I went to look for, and it tasted the same as in Mykonos. The baba ganoush is an off-scale delight.
Now we are regular customers there, and nostalgia was relegated by satisfaction.
