Hello am a level 6 local guide and happy to be of help through the information given as a local guide. My question really is are there measure in place to check the credibility of the information given by the local guides on Google maps and connect so as to avoid misleading others? Are there also measures in place to check the reliability of a local guide so as to ensure accurate information?

To follow up with the inquiries, Local Guides may suggest an edit or add a missing place to Google Maps, the pending submissions would be carefully checked by the appropriate system for providing the most correct possible information. (should you spot any irregularities, for an example described in the post How and when to report reviews on Google Maps, do feel free to send feedback)
Should there be any concerns on Connect, do feel free to check the post How do I report inappropriate content on Connect? or directly mention one of the Google Moderators.
