Hello! I discovered Local Guides about a couple of years ago while reading reviews for places that I was planning to visit. And then one fine day, I ventured into writing reviews myself. What clicks for me is its usefulness. The usefulness by way of the guidance it provided to those looking for it, that’s what made me begin. And once I began, it was a pleasure all the way to be sharing my views. Many a time there were these people who would thank me for helping them in promoting their business in some little way and it felt so good.

What motivated me was that it did matter that I put in my views and thoughts. It mattered to those offering the services. It mattered to those interested in the services. Most of all, it mattered ever so much to me that my reviews and pictures actually helped and were looked forward to. Visiting new places has suddenly become all the more meaningful. Posting on new countries that I visited has its own charm because it is like the world has a glimpse of the place through my eyes.

I enjoy being a Local Guide and look forward to meeting other Local Guides like me. We could learn, share and give our feedback. We could also form bonds of friendship with people across the world and make this lovely planet even more beautiful!

In St. Peter's Basilica, Vatican City. It is one of the most sacred places in Christendom. Vatican City is a walled enclave located within the city of Rome. An amazing experience.

Hvar, a Croatian island in the Adriatic Sea. Hvar's Venetian fort, Fortiza or Spanjola as it is known in local usage, is a highlight of any visit to Hvar town. Its striking position perched on top of a 100m high hill makes it hard to miss. The climb up to the fort is gentle and pleasant and the views from the top are majestic.

Positano is a village on the Amalfi Coast (Province of Salerno), in Campania, Italy. The place was an essential stop for the ancient Greeks and Phoenicians on their expeditions to western areas. It is said that the coastal village was named after Poseidon, God of the Sea. An anchor from the old times....

Angkor Wat is the largest religious monument in the world. It is one of the most important and visually stunning attractions in Asia. Angkor Wat literally means “City Temple”. The architecture of the building and Angkor Wat's extensive decoration is one of the causes of its fame. Interestingly, the inner walls of the outer gallery bear a series of large-scale scenes mainly depicting episodes from the Hindu epics the Ramayana and the Mahabharata.

One of my favorites, the smiling face of Buddha. The Bayon Temple is one of the most famous after Angkor Wat. It was built nearly 100 years after Angkor Wat. A Buddhist temple, it is the last mountain temple that was built in the style of Khmer Arts.
