There’re some weeks that I just go all out and try new restaurants in my city, this week was one of those.
These are the meals of the week.
First off, Den Sake Bar:
Located in the second floor of the hip Mercado Andares, this new sushi place is literally the talk of the city. A comfortable and small space in the heart of one of the city’s financial districts. Their main dishes are raw, with the spotlight on sashimi and nigiri. We tried sashimi with tuna, salmon and hamachi; I definitely enjoyed the salmon way more than the other two, but it doesn’t mean they weren’t good. But the rock and roll star of the day was the unagi nigiri, that was truly special.

I love Italian food, one of the most popular cuisines worldwide, but popular doesn’t mean good all the times. I went on to try Nápoles, one trendy pizzeria on Providencia neighborhood in Guadalajara. Actually is one of the few Italian restaurants in the city that is certified as authentic pizza from Naples. When it comes to pizza, my go-to order is Margherita, simple but delightful. Before our stunning pizza, we order some prosciutto to start off the night. I truly recommend this place, it has a great vibe, service and of course, food.

The foodie tour finished at SSAM, a Korean restaurant in Lafayette neighborhood. It started a little over a year ago and it is one of the best-rated restaurants in all of Guadalajara. The owner is always there and happy to help out with the orders. They recently changed the menu offering visitors a few new dishes along the now favorites. For appetizers we tried the Korean version of gyozas stuffed with pork meat, followed by spicy fried chicken, simply terrific. Our main course was a dry version of ramen with beef.
