Meal during trekking to Tazing Dong Mountain

Tazing Dong (also known as Bijoy) is a mountain peak in Bangladesh. Officially, it is the highest mountain peak in Bangladesh and is located in the Saichal Range of Ruma Upazila in Bandarban District, southeastern Bangladesh. The official elevation of Mount Tazing Dong is 1,280 meters (4198.4 ft). In the language of the local tribes, the word ‘Tazing’ means big and the word ‘Dong’ means mountain. That is, the full name of Tazing Dong stands for Big Hill.

Tajing Dong mountain trekking was 5 nights and 4 days. There is no good communication, no restaurant and no formal accommodation. This path is quite difficult. Many small hills, steep paths, jungles have to be crossed. It is a matter of luck to get food on this rugged path. Although I had almonds, raisins, dates, biscuits, etc. with me as dry food. But without solid food, the body would not have strength. Had one or two solid meals a day. Many tribals live in the hills. If you contact them, they arrange cooking. Below I have given what I ate while trekking.

But preparing for a trip to the mountains must be completely different. It should be remembered that the mountains are not as easy to travel as the plains. So the mountain travel material should be different. Must have the physical and mental strength to walk miles and miles with a backpack. The delicious food and comfortable beds of the city cannot be matched there. Be prepared for that. Good nutrition is essential for good health during mountaineering. Typically 3000 to 6000 calories can be consumed during hiking, which needs to be replenished quickly.

If traveling for a few days, you can keep dates or dates, raisins, biscuits, fruit cake, walnuts or cashew nuts, peanut butter, chips or chanachur in the bag. You can keep jelly and bread. Water must be kept. Among the fruits you can eat orange, apple, cool, pear etc. However, it is better not to eat only fruits in the morning on an empty stomach.

Happy tourism!
